Cognitive Dissonance with Chinese Characteristic Or my Life as a Translator
This is some of what i have to translate today--and this paragraph in particular makes my head explode.
Why? Notice the mixture of revolutionary language--mobilization, praxis--and 21st century capitalism
is interesting but it's hell to translate, in some way because the revolutionists' idiom is lost on me--
the cliches corporate capitalism, also present here, are much more familiar to me, though only slightly less repulsive. However, it is somehow combining these two in a bout of coherent English is bit jarring, creating
a unique type of cognitive dissonance--cognitive dissonance with Chinese characteristics, shall we call it?
